Free Infuse 7 PRO for iPhone Installation

As you may know, it's been a few years since Apple stopped supporting Infuse, my go-to media library/NAS solution. But don't worry, I've got an alternative that has been serving me well - my ASUSTOR Lockerstor 4 with 16 TB of always-online NAS storage! Not to mention its upgraded 20 TB of total storage space.

For over a decade, my trusty Mac mini (2010) has acted as my de-facto media library/NAS. While I experimented with Plex a few years back, I never really considered switching to another home media library system - mostly due to laziness. To make my library accessible, I've always relied on iTunes and its Shared Library functionality. However, this feature seems to be in a 'we still support it because the code is there' state.

So, what's changed? Since 2008, I've ripped every DVD and Blu-Ray I bought to my Mac, resulting in a collection of SD and HD media totaling around 2 TB today. Firecore recently announced an upgrade path to Infuse 7 for v4, v5, and v6 users, which includes a free year of Infuse Pro when upgrading.

If you're interested in upgrading to Infuse 7, you can also get a free year of Pro (a ~$10 value). Going forward, Infuse Pro 6 will always be available on the App Store. However, it may potentially have issues due to updates to iOS/tvOS or other services that Infuse uses.

Now, all Pro upgrades are done in-app and include automatic upgrades for all releases. With Apple's support of sharing of in-app purchases since early 2021, there was no longer a need to have separate standalone paid apps. These were priced around what ~2.5 years of an Infuse Pro subscription would be.

In the past, Infuse was available as both an in-app purchase and a standalone paid app. The reason for this was due to Apple not supporting family sharing of in-app purchases for a long time. I hope this information helps you make an informed decision about your media library/NAS needs!
